Gilmartin, who played for numerous teams, including the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves, married McEnany in 2017 – the pair welcomed their first child 2 years later

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany recently announced that she is expecting her third child with her husband, Sean Gilmartin.

While presenting the news on March 17, McEnany, who co-hosts the Fox show Outnumbered, told viewers, “Last but not least, I’ve been teasing a big announcement. Sean and I are expecting our third child, which we’re so excited about.”

McEnany went on to say that the baby is due in June and she will be doing a live gender reveal on the show.

“I hope you will join me on this journey. I will be live talking about this on social media [and] on the show. We’ll do a gender reveal here,” the Fox host said.

McEnany has been married to retired New York Mets pitcher Gilmartin since 2017 and the couple have two children, daughter Blake and son Nash.

He’s a former professional baseball player

Sean Patrick Gilmartin was born in August, 1990, in Thousand Oaks, California.

In 2011, Gilmartin, a left-handed pitcher, was selected by the Atlanta Braves as the 28th overall pick in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft.

“Sean is a quality left-handed pitcher with great make-up and excellent pitchability,” Braves scouting director Tony DeMacio told the Orlando Sentinel at the time. “We think he’ll move fast through our system and we are real happy to get him.”

Gilmartin signed for the Braves despite teams such as the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays also vying for him, per batterypower.com.

Gilmartin went on to play for the Rays, Baltimore Orioles and Mets during his career.

He retired from the sport during the 2021-22 off-season, per the US Sun.

He’s turned to hunting

Gilmartin’s Instagram account, which has more than 16,000 followers at the time of writing, includes images of him hunting and showing off his kills. He also frequently shares pictures of his dogs, Boomer and Lexi, who join him.

He is supportive of his wife’s work

McEnany and Gilmartin began dating in 2015 and married two years later. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Blake, in 2019 and son Nash in 2022.

Gilmartin, who leads a more low-key life than his partner, refrains from sharing too much personal information on social media. However, he does occasionally show his support for his wife by promoting her books.

In May 2023, Gilmartin posed on Instagram with McEnany’s book, Serenity in the Storm: Living Through Chaos by Leaning on Christ.

“My wife @kayleighmcenany has a new book that is available today wherever books are sold! During these uncertain times, let this book be your guide to trusting God and finding serenity in your own ‘storm’,” he wrote.
