Good Morning America announced a major shakeup with a key player, head stagehand and prop master Gary Minor, retiring from the show after 37 years.
On Friday, June 13, GMA co-anchors bid an emotional farewell to their beloved crew member.
“Gary’s behind the scenes but he is such an integral part of this show,” Michael Strahan said. “He’s been head stage man and prop master for 37 years.”

After turning to Minor, who joined them on stage, the former NFL player revealed, “Unfortunately for us, but very fortunate for you, you’re retiring now.”
In a special video look-back of the stage hand’s time on the show, Strahan shared, “To us here at GMA, he’s the heart of the studio.”
He added, “I love Gary, he’s been one of my best friends here. He has been like myDanny DeVito.”
Meanwhile, Robin Roberts admitted, “I can’t imagine walking in the studio and not seeing Gary.”
George Stephanopoulos joked, “I’m really going to miss having someone my size on the set. Gary’s the best.”
